Fishery Liaison Representative / Fishery Expert

The fishery expert plays a major role in actively ensuring that the petroleum industry and the fishing industry carry out their offshore activities in good coexistence. The fishery expert has an advisory function and shall offer professional independent advice on fishery-related matters.

The Directorate of Fisheries, the Coast Guard and the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate have entered into a joint cooperation agreement. Through the agreement, the authorities will ensure that the fishery expert and other relevant parties have access to round-the-clock government assistance in the event of an incident or other needs.
